Due to Brexit, new product conformity requirements apply in Great Britain. The CE Mark will not be recognized in the future anymore. The UKCA marking will be the new product marking which is used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain. It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking. The UKCA marking declares that the product conforms to all applicable U.K. legislative requirements and that appropriate conformity assessment procedures have been successfully completed. The UKCA marking is at least 5mm in height for the whole logo and easily visible. In most cases, manufacturer have to apply the UKCA marking to the product itself or to the packaging. In some cases, it may be placed on the manuals or on other supporting literature. This will vary depending on the specific regulations which apply to the product.
The essential requirements to be meet and the conformity assessment processes as well as standards that can be used to demonstrate conformity are largely the same as they were for the CE marking. The circumstances in which self-declaration of conformity for UKCA marking can be used are the same as for CE marking. The UKCA marking is not recognized on the EU market. Products need a CE marking for sale in the EU.

The UKCA marking came into effect on 1 January 2021. However, to allow businesses time to adjust to the new requirements, it is still allowed to use the CE marking until 1 January 2023.
From 1 January 2023, the CE marking will not be recognized anymore in Great Britain. For most goods (other than those subject to special rules) it is an allowed option to affix the UKCA marking on a label affixed to the product or on an accompanying document. The economic operators (whether manufacturer, importer or distributor) should take reasonable steps to ensure the UKCA marking remains in place. In addition to the product marking, UK Declarations of Conformity are required to be issued.
From 1 January 2026, the UKCA marking must, in most cases, be affixed directly to the product. This deadline has been postponed by the UK government on 20 June 2022 from 31.12.2023 to 31.12.2025 to allow businesses to adjust their product design to accommodate marking changes at a convenient and cost-effective time.
In relation to our Traco Power products, we have completed our conformity assessment process and issued our new UK Declarations. We will follow the UKCA rulechanges in Great Britain due to Brexit as required to ensure the availability of our products in all UK markets.
We apply the UKCA mark on our new product labels in addition to the CE logo (where space is available on the product). We will also add the UKCA mark in accompanying documents by the end of 2022 to ensure current stock without UKCA can be imported to UK as well after 2022.
It is not planned to discontinue any product due to new UKCA requirements.
